On the Cover: Two spectacular St. Louis fluted Paleo period points, both found in Kentucky. This style was named by Greg Perino due to examples found in the St. Louis area, and is a broad based point that is fluted on both sides and considered to be a knife form rather than a projectile point.

The point on the left was found in Montgomery County, Kentucky, near the town of Mt. Sterling It measures 5 /14 inches by 2 1/6 inches in width. It is made from Kentucky hornstone. The point on the right measures 5 7/8 inches in length by 2 3/16 inches in width and was found in Fayette County, Kentucky. It is most likely made from Boyle chert.
