On the Cover
This Hardin, which is shown in situ, was a personal find of Andy Shull in Newberry County, South Carolina. It was found on January 4, 2023, which according to Andy was a bitter cold day. He lives near where he found this. He has found several thousand points, but this is his only Hardin. It is made from heavily weathered Coastal Plains chert from at least 100 miles away. To his knowledge, only four Hardin points have been found in this area and all have been crafted from Coastal Plains chert. This is as rare as it comes for this region.
